André Watson has faced a disciplinary hearing following a list of grievances signed by 24 officials.

According to Sunday Times rugby writer Liam de Carme, the grievances include:

– Verbal abuse
– Victimisation
– His abrasive management style; and
– Financial impropriety

The newspaper says it was Watson's fallout with senior referee Rasta Rasivhenge that galvanised the disenchanted. Watson allegedly told Rasivhenge last year: 'I'll f**k you up, I'll destroy you.'

Rasivhenge subsequently left South African to pursue a refereeing career in Australia.

He reportedly flew back to South Africa to attend Watson's disciplinary hearing, at which the country's No 1-ranked referee Craig Joubert also testified.
