The dynamic Ardie Savea stunned Kiwi grassroots spectators when the All Blacks No 8 turned out for local outfit Oriental-Rongotai Rugby Club – and at fullback.
His Super Rugby Pacific season for the Hurricanes came to an end on 10 June after the Wellington-based outfit were knocked out by the Brumbies in the quarter-finals.
New Zealand are set to lock horns with Argentina in the Rugby Championship opener on 8 July, and the loose forward has taken a refreshing approach to staying match-fit.
In a series of Twitter posts, the 29-year-old is spotted wearing the 15 jersey, even popping up out wide to score a try.
