Paul Roos made history when they came back from an early deficit to claim an away win over Paarl Boys’ High for the first time in 20 years.
In a Winelands derby, Paul Roos powered to a 35-17 victory at the Brug Street Stadium in Paarl, for a first away win over their rivals since 2003.
This came after Paarl Boys had taken an early 5-0 lead in the match, after star fullback JC Mars sliced through the Paul Roos defence to open the scoring.
Tries from tighthead prop Ryan Jack and loosehead Oliver Reid gave Paul Roos a 12-5 lead at half-time. The second half belonged to the visitors as scrumhalf Zeke January dotted down, before flyhalf Leejay Petersen added a trio of penalties. Reid then completed his brace late on to add further gloss to the scoreline.
Elsewhere, Grey College continued their unbeaten run this season, by steamrolling Monument to earn a 31-10 away win in Krugersdorp. It was the first time that Grey had won in Krugersdorp since 1995.
