Eben Etzebeth will play off the bench for the Sharks in the Challenge Cup match against French side Oyonnax in Durban on Saturday.
The Sharks are looking to halt a run of three successive defeats and coach John Plumtree has kept changes to a minimum from the side that suffered a two-point home loss to the Lions in the Vodacom URC.
Locks Corne Rahl and Eben Etzebeth have been rotated, with the Springbok centurion named as a substitute.
Meanwhile, loose forward Tino Mavesere gets his Challenge Cup debut, as he replaces the hard-working James Venter, who provides cover off the bench.
The Sharks’ backline is unchanged.
There are two further debutants on the bench, with former Griquas wing Eduan Keyter and ex-Pumas star Diego Appollis both set to get their first runs in an international competition for the Sharks.
