The Sharks have reportedly lost the fight to keep Boeta Chamberlain from joining the Vodacom Bulls, but are ready to compete with their rivals for big-name signings.
According to Sunday newspaper Rapport, the Vodacom Bulls have successfully signed Sharks flyhalf Chamberlain, adding further depth to their playmaking stocks.
Chamberlain’s departure is set to start a squad overhaul at the Sharks for next season which will see Rohan Janse van Rensburg (Bordeaux) and Le Roux Roets (Sale Sharks) next season also leave Durban.
It is expected that the Sharks sign Lions duo Jordan Hendrikse and Emmanuel Tshituka, as well as Leinster lock Jason Jenkins, while they are also in talks with Gloucester loose forward Ruan Ackermann.
The Vodacom Bulls are hoping to bring Springbok centre Jan Serfontein (Montpellier) and World Cup-winning prop Trevor Nyakane (Racing 92) back to Loftus from France.
However, according to the report, the Sharks are also interested in the Springbok duo, who will offer depth in positions where John Plumtree’s side is currently lacking.
