After a weekend of thrilling European cup action, the DHL Stormers and Vodacom Bulls renew hostilities when the Vodacom United Rugby Championship resumes this week.
The north-south rivals lock horns in a mouth-watering derby clash in Cape Town on Saturday, after the Stormers claimed a famous 21-20 victory over Champions Cup holders La Rochelle at home, before the Bulls were denied by Lyon in a 29-28 defeat in France.

The round 8 URC fixture between the Sharks and Lions is scheduled for 6 January. Both teams were involved in round 2 of the Challenge Cup, with the Sharks edged 32-29 in an eight-try thriller against the Cheetahs on Sunday, while the Lions took a big step towards the playoffs with a 35-13 win against Newcastle Falcons on Saturday.
In the URC standings, the Bulls are in third position after five wins and two defeats, with the Lions and Stormers in ninth and 10th, respectively, while the Sharks are 15th.
Irish giants Leinster, under the guidance of former Springbok head coach Jacques Nienaber, occupy top spot on the table above Franco Smith’s Glasgow Warriors.
