The DHL Stormers were the only South African team to come away with a victory in the second round of the Vodacom United Rugby Championship this weekend.
The Capetonians, playing on a sunny Saturday afternoon in Stellenbosch, scored eight tries in a 52-7 win over the Scarlets, before Edinburgh held out the Lions, and Leinster showed their class against the Sharks.
Edinburgh were made to work hard to keep the Lions at bay, winning their battle in the Scottish capital by 17-16. The Sharks were at the receiving end of a Leinster retaliation when the Irish giants won 34-13 in Dublin, a week after the Durbanites were beaten in Glasgow.

And on Sunday evening, Ulster made the most of some ill-discipline by the Vodacom Bulls to win a tense tussle 26-19 on a rainy night in Belfast.
Earlier in the day, defending URC champions Munster needed a late converted try to secure a 13-all draw against Benetton in Treviso, with Ospreys, Connacht and Cardiff winning their games.
Ospreys edged Zebre 34-31, as Connacht got the better of the Glasgow Warriors 34-26, while Cardiff picked up a W on the road against the Dragons (16-9).
Round 3 kicks off on Friday, with the Sharks and Stormers both in action at 9:35pm, against Ospreys and Glasgow, in London and Glasgow respectively. Less than 24 hours later, the Bulls face Zebre in Parma (3pm), before the Lions tackle Benetton at the Stadio Comunale di Monigo on Sunday (3:30pm).
