Steyn seals the deal for Stade

SARugbymag.co.za looks back at the past weekend's French Top 14 final, which involved South African players.

FRENCH TOP 14 FINAL

– Stade Français were crowned champions after beating Clermont 12-6 at the Stade de France in Paris. Flyhalf Morné Steyn, who started alongside former Bok prop Heinke van der Merwe, accounted for all of Stade's points with four penalty goals. Ex-Bulls flank Jono Ross turned out for the Parisian club from the 65th minute and while he conceded a penalty which resulted in three points for Clermont, he made two crucial turnovers in the closing stages of the match. Outside centre Meyer Bosman came on as Stade's last substitute in the final minute of the match.

Johann Sadie has signed a two-year deal with newly promoted French club Agen. The centre, who made 10 appearances for the NTT Docomo Red Hurricanes in Japan last season, will link up with former Cheetahs teammate Burton Francis at the club. 

– Zebre have announced the signing of former Junior Boks flanker Jean Cook, who will join ex-Cheetahs teammates Hennie Daniller and Andries Ferreira on the Italian club's books.
