Morne Steyn will wear the Vodacom Bulls’ No 10 jersey in his final appearance in Pretoria in the crunch Currie Cup match against the Cheetahs on Saturday.
Steyn, who will be retiring at the end of the season, starts in a halfback combination with Embrose Papier.
Meanwhile, another retiring legend, Bismark du Plessis, will play from the bench, as Jan-Hendrik Wessels starts at hooker.
Vodacom Bulls director of rugby Jake White has made a handful of changes to the team that thrashed the Griffons 64-33 in the penultimate round.
Mornay Smith rotates with Francois Klopper at tighthead prop, while Springbok lock Ruan Nortje and fit-again blindside flank Cyle Brink both get starts.
Aside from Steyn coming in for Chris Smith, the only other change to the starting backline sees Harold Vorster replace Chris Smit and partner Stedman Gans in midfield.
The Vodacom Bulls need to win on Saturday to secure their place in the Currie Cup semi-finals.
