The Stormers are reportedly in “advanced negotiations” to sign a rising star of English rugby in a significant boost to the team’s outside backs.
After missing out on clinching back-to-back Vodacom United Rugby Championship titles, the Stormers have targeted wing and fullback as two positions that need significant strengthening during the off-season.
The Stormers are set to capitalise on the collapse of London Irish by signing one of the English club’s brightest talents.
According to Netwerk24, negotiations are advanced to bring fullback Ben Loader to Cape Town.
The 24-year-old, who can also play on the wing, has made over 120 appearances for London Irish since making his debut in the 2017-18 season.
Loader is among the London Irish players looking for new homes after the club became the third in England this season to fall into administration
His signature would be a massive one for the Stormers, who would be getting a talented 1,82m, 92kg back.
Capped at U20 level, Loader has yet to play for England at senior level.
