The scene is set for a fiery Vodacom URC final in Cape Town, and DHL Stormers coach John Dobson has wasted no time stoking the fire, taking aim at Munster for what he called “cheap shots” in their previous league encounter.
The Stormers beat Connacht to earn the right to host Munster in the URC decider at a sold-out DHL Stadium on 27 May, and Dobson has added spice in the build up to the blockbuster clash.
Speaking on Ryan O’Connor’s breakfast show on SmileFM on Friday, the Stormers boss further revealed that his players were irked by the off-the-ball antics displayed by their Munster counterparts in a round 17 defeat to the Irish club, singling out skipper Peter O’Mahony and RG Snyman, the latter for targeting his Springbok teammate Steven Kitshoff.

Ruhan Nel, who had a standout performance in the loss with two tries, echoed Dobson’s sentiments and expressed his excitement at getting another crack at the Red Army.
He added: “Its going to be massive. They’ve won five consecutive away fixtures, including Glasgow, Leinster and us. All three teams who held exceptional home records. So we are under no illusions of just how tough its going to be.
“But having thousands of blue jerseys and Stormers flags waving in the crowd, definitely puts that little bit extra in the tank to go out and get Cape Town smiling for one last time this season!”
