The DHL Stormers have reportedly fended off interest from France to convince a key playmaker to sign a long-term extension.
According to Sunday newspaper Rapport, Manie Libbok has turned down a move to Racing 92 and will instead extend his contract with the Stormers until 2027.
Libbok, who joined from the Sharks in 2021, had just one year left on his current contract with Western Province Rugby, which ends in 2024.
The Springbok flyhalf was on Racing’s radar as the French giants are on the hunt for a replacement for Scotland star Finn Russell, who will join English side Bath after the World Cup.

Libbok is reportedly very happy in Cape Town, where he has turned his career around by helping the Stormers into two successive Vodacom United Rugby Championship finals, winning one.
Racing have already recruited Springbok captain Siya Kolisi from the Sharks, but have bid farewell to fullback Warrick Gelant, who has returned to the Stormers.
