The Stormers have moved to downplay reports that they are interested in signing Sbu Nkosi from the Vodacom Bulls.
According to a report by Sport24, the Stormers “showed genuine interest” in acquiring Nkosi’s services, despite the Springbok winger’s troubled stint at the Vodacom Bulls.
The report said that Nkosi had met with Stormers management to discuss a potential move, adding that his wages could pose a potential stumbling block.
The Stormers are on the hunt for game-breaking outside backs, where they struggled for depth in the recently concluded 2022-23 season.
However, John Dobson told SARugbymag.co.za that the Vodacom United Rugby Championship runners-up are in no way interested in bringing Nkosi on board next season.
“We are not interested,” said Dobson.
The Stormers have also been linked with moves for Warrick Gelant and Dillyn Leyds, who could return to the Western Cape after successful stints in France.
