Tahs coach ‘threatened’ cameraman

Sanzar is investigating a complaint that Waratahs coach Michael Cheika abused a touchline cameraman during his team's match against the Sharks in Durban.

SuperSport has complained Cheika had a brief confrontation with one of its employees during the match, which the Sharks won 32-10.

'The coach objected to SuperSport filming him and he approached and abused [the cameraman],' said SuperSport spokesman Clinton van der Berg. 'A couple of choice words were used. Where SuperSport draws the line is being threatened.'

A complaint was lodged with the match commissioner Peter Strydom, who in turn sent it to Sanzar.

'We have received correspondence, but like all matters of this nature, won't be making further comment until we've had the opportunity to review,' said a Sanzar spokesman.
