Top 20 schools rankings (25 August)

Paul Roos have reclaimed second position in the FNB Top 20 rankings following their 19-12 win against Grey College.

The defeat in Stellenbosch, coupled with Paarl Gym's 54-16 thumping of Tygerberg, sees Grey drop two spots from second to fourth, with Gimmies promoted one place higher to complete an all-Cape top three.

The rest of the top half remains unchanged.

Lower down, Garsfontein's thrilling 42-40 victory over HTS Middelburg earns them promotion off the bottom of the standings to 17th; Diamantveld rise from 19th to 18th after cruising to a 45-18 win over Sentraal; and Maritzburg, despite not playing this past weekend, are relegated from 17th to 19th.

Potchefstroom suffered a 30-27 defeat against Helpmekaar and are replaced by their conquerors at the bottom of the list.

Over at, defeats for Grey College and EJ Jansen see the pair slip down the table one place each, benefiting Grey High, who jump up from 10th to eighth position.

Stellenberg and Outeniqua were involved in a direct swap, with the former overtaking the latter in 12th spot; below St Benedict's oust HTS Middelburg in 14th position, despite the Rooi Bulle's 43-41 win over EG Jansen at the weekend.  

Boland Landbou and Noord-Kaap slip down the pecking order, below the two new additions Bishops and Diamantveld, who join the list at the expense of Potchefstroom Gim and Glenwood.

The has demoted Grey College from fourth to sixth, below Paul Roos and Monument, in the only change to the top half of the table.

Bishops' 53-15 hammering of Cape southern suburbs rivals Wynberg sees them climb up two spots from 13th to 11th, above Boland Landbou and Outeniqua.

And closer to the bottom of the standings, Diamantveld rise above Kynoch Noord-Kaap to 18th place.
