SA-born Scotland wing Duhan van der Merwe “giggles” every time he watches a replay of his sensational solo try against England on Saturday.
The former Junior Boks finisher who now plies his trade for Edinburgh, Van der Merwe stunned the English crowd when he broke through five tackles on a counter-attack from his own half in the Calcutta Cup victory to score what has been hailed by some as the greatest try in Six Nations history.

“I’ve obviously seen it a couple of times,” he told BBC Sport. “I still can’t believe I’ve done that.
“I giggle when I watch it, but obviously for me personally it’s my best try I’ve ever scored. Looking back at it, just absolutely buzzing.”
Later, Van der Merwe added another try with a flawless finish after a superb team effort while also clinching the Man of the Match award as Scotland secured a 29-23 victory and third consecutive Calcutta Cup.

Frans to give World Cup ‘my best shot’
Asked about Scotland’s prospects in the championship with three home games remaining and a trip to France yet to come, Van der Merwe said: “We have to take it game by game. We have to focus on Wales this weekend.
“But we also believe that we can go and beat every single team out there because we’re a really, really tight group and we play for each other. So why not?”
