Van Graan extends Munster stay

Munster coach Johann van Graan Johann van Graan Munster
Standard published on April 8, 2019

Munster coach Johann van Graan has signed a two-year extension to remain with the Irish club until 2022.

After leaving his role as a Springbok assistant coach, Van Graan made the move to Limerick in November 2017. He guided the team to the semi-final stage of the  European Champions Cup and Pro14 last season.

Van Graan has now opted to extend his stay in Ireland, with Munster reaching the playoffs for both the Pro14 and Champions Cup this season.

‘I am very happy and grateful to be in this position, knowing that I can continue to work with this incredible group of people and play my part in shaping Munster’s future,’ Van Graan said.

‘Coming to Munster I wanted to become part of the community, and every day I get to experience that sense of belonging, with my family and I settling in from the very beginning.

‘This is a special place, a special club to be part of and I look forward to continuing the journey together.’
