The Six Nations clash between England and Wales in Cardiff has been thrown into doubt as it has emerged that Welsh players are considering a strike over their contract renewals.
Wales, who have lost both of their Six Nations matches this year, were set to host England next Saturday, but a strike has reportedly been discussed by the home players due to unhappiness over the financial situation with the Wales Rugby Union.

It has been reported that a meeting will take place between the Welsh Rugby Players’ Association officials and players before the third-round match.
Recruitment has been placed on hold for Wales’ four professional clubs, while a new financial agreement with the regions has yet to be put into place by the WRU. This has generated anxiety among the players and led to concerns of a potential player exodus out of Wales.
A Wales squad member shared their concerns with the Daily Mail on Tuesday.
“I can’t believe I’m five months away from the end of my contract and eight months away from the World Cup and my future isn’t certain yet,” the player said.
“I can’t apply for a mortgage and I’m on antidepressants. I’m also one big injury away from not having a job in July, yet I’m starting for Wales every week and the WRU is making tens of millions from international matches.”
