The four nominees are:

Du Plessis was part of a dominant Sharks scrum, and also had a massive game in the loose. The hooker scored the Sharks' second try, and offloaded to Tonderai Chavanga to set up the hosts' third.

The flanker led the Sharks' physical assault on the Highlanders, making 36m from 11 carries. He also made four tackles.

The Fijian-born winger was sensational with ball in hand for the Brumbies, making 140m from 13 carries, four clean breaks, and beating four defenders.

The Brumbies scrumhalf scored his side's first try and had a hand in their next two. His quick service allowed them to play a multi-phase game that took the Chiefs by surprise.
