Scrumhalf Grant Williams has been lined up by Springbok coach Jacques Nienaber as an option at No 11 or 14 against Romania in the World Cup on Sunday.
Nienaber will name his match-day 23 for the Pool B clash on Wednesday evening, with a number of changes expected from the lineup that beat Scotland in Marseille last week.
Making his tournament debut, Williams featured off the bench against the Scots, and the six-Test halfback almost scored a breakout try with his first touch of the ball.

Williams made his Test bow against Wales last year, and his exceptional performances for the Sharks and Bok cameos this season earned him a ticket to rugby’s global spectacle.
His speed and versatility makes him a force to be reckoned with, and according to a report on News24, the world champions are keen to deploy the supersonic Williams in the wide channels against minnows Romania in Bordeaux, affording Jaden Hendrikse and Cobus Reinach more gametime.
It is also understood that Damian Willemse is set to get a sixth Test start at flyhalf, while utility back Canan Moodie and lock Jean Kleyn will return from injury.
