Wits scored an 83rd-minute winner to snatch an incredible yet controversial comeback win against Varsity Cup rivals UJ after trailing by 30 points at half time on Monday.
UJ appeared to be cruising to a comfortable Johannesburg derby victory as they led 30-0 at the break after an utterly dominant first-half performance.
21’ TRY?! Bonus point secured as the orange army march on. @UJ_Sport again using their backs well as a kick is grubbered through and Likhaya Tengimgene collects and dives over for a 7 point try with the conversion being good.

However, spurred on by their home support, Wits climbed back into the match in the second half, narrowing the deficit to just three points thanks to No 8 Ziyanda Msipha and lock Kyle van Eyssen each crossing for two tries.
An incredible final play saw Wits awarded a debatable penalty, which saw wing Prince Nkabinde yellow-carded, despite the UJ player appearing to cross the touchline before the penalty was awarded.
From there, the hosts piled on the pressure, kept their composure and spread the ball wide to put Gershwin Mouton over for the winner.
