Eben Etzebeth and Lood de Jager must power the Springbok scrum at the 2023 Rugby World Cup, according to readers.
As tradition has it, South Africa’s world title defence in France later this year will be built on the back of the pack, and given the importance of the second row to this plan, SARugbymag.co.za readers were polled on the best of the tall timber.
“Stick to the tried-and-tested” was the message from the poll results which saw Etzebeth and De Jager combine to claim 78% of the vote, while Snyman (10%) and Mostert (7%) were cleared to provide cover from the bench.
