Former Springbok prop BJ Botha has praised loose forward Junior Pokomela’s “undervalued” tighthead skills in the scrum for the DHL Stormers.
The Stormers scrum dominated the Sharks in the set piece at Kings Park two weeks ago to lay the platform for the likes of Manie Libbok to shine in a bonus-point win for the defending Vodacom United Rugby Championship winners.
Botha, who played 25 Tests for the Boks between 2006 and 2010 before retiring from professional rugby in 2018, on Twitter extolled the scrumming power of blindside flanker Pokomela on display behind No 3 Neethling Fouche.

that make it all worthwhile, a massive moment in a big game. The first line of defence is always the set-piece! #scrum #scrumcoach #scrumchat @THESTORMERS @SharksRugby @URCOfficial_RSA
