Assistant coach Julian Redelinghuys said the hapless Lions must make timely decisions and seize their opportunities in the Vodacom URC against Scarlets on Saturday.
The Lions and Scarlets clash in Wales, and the Joburgers are desperate to rebound after a narrow defeat at Benetton on Sunday afternoon.
The Scarlets celebrated their first triumph of the new season against Cardiff at Parc y Scarlets last week, the very venue where they will welcome the Lions.
Despite being winless after three rounds in the 2023-24 URC, The Pride are determined to correct their course this weekend.
Speaking to the media on Tuesday, Redelinghuys felt the mix of natural and artificial grass on the pitch adds a unique element to the game while offering the Lions an advantage in the scrum.

“We just have to do the right things at the right time in a game,” he told reporters. “We now know what are the mistakes we make that must be corrected if we want to win.
“Saturday night we get another opportunity to put things right.
“We play on a pitch that is a mixture between normal and artificial grass. It makes it easier to scrum up.”
In team news, veteran prop JP Smith and loose forward Ruhan Straeuli have been called up to Wales in place of injured loosehead Morgan Naudé (shoulder) and lock Darrien Landsberg (hamstring), who have returned home.
