The Vodacom Bulls lost control of their Champions Cup destiny when they were hammered by a fired-up Lyon at the Stade Gerland on Friday night.
Needing just one point to secure their place in the last 16, the Bulls suffered a 31-7 loss in Lyon, leaving them relying on other results in the final round of pool matches to stay in the top eight in Pool A.

The result saw the Bulls drop to sixth place on 10 points – the match between Bordeaux and Gloucester on Saturday at 6.15pm will be decisive. The Vodacom Bulls will be hoping that Bordeaux, winless after three games, are able to deny Gloucester a bonus-point win at the Stade Chaban-Delmas.
Should Gloucester claim all five points against Bordeaux, Racing beat Leinster in Dublin and Harlequins win against the Sharks in London, that would send the Vodacom Bulls into the second-tier Challenge Cup playoffs.
