Sanele Nohamba was a late inclusion into the Lions’ spree of re-signings that have committed their futures to the union until 2025.
On Tuesday afternoon, the Lions originally announced that 19 players, including No 8 Francke Horn, had signed contract extensions until the end of next season.

Nohamba was not part of the 19 that was initially announced in a social media post on the Lions’ official channels, but was later added as the 20th player.
The 24-year-old has been a massive hit since joining the Lions from the Sharks and is currently their top points-scorer for the 2023-24 season, with 36 in six games.
Having been utilised primarily at scrumhalf last season, the latter parts of which saw him handed the goalkicking responsibilities in Jordan Hendrikse’s injury-enforced absence, Nohamba has donned the Lions’ No 10 jersey in the last three games.
However, while Lions fans will breathe a sigh of relief now that Nohamba has signed on, two names conspicuous by their absence are Emmanuel Tshituka and Hendrikse.
Both players will see their contracts with the Lions run out in 2024 and have been heavily linked with moves to the Sharks, where their older siblings Vincent Tshituka and Jaden Hendrikse currently ply their trade.
