Sanele Nohamba is back at flyhalf as the Lions made four changes to their starting lineup to face the Vodacom Bulls in Pretoria on Saturday.
Lions head coach Ivan van Rooyen has largely stuck with the team that suffered a defeat to Ospreys in the final round of the Challenge Cup, to face the Vodacom Bulls in a Vodacom URC derby at Loftus Versfeld.
Having started at scrumhalf last week, Nohamba returns to the No 10 jersey, resuming his halfback partnership with scrumhalf Morne van den Berg, who replaces Gianni Lombard in the starting lineup.
Nohamba scored 24 points to help the Lions beat the Bulls in the previous meeting between the two teams at Loftus.
That is the only change to a backline, with Lombard falling out of the matchday squad entirely to accommodate the return of Jordan Hendrikse on the bench.
There are two changes in the pack, as veteran Jaco Visagie replaces PJ Botha at hooker, while Hanru Sirgel comes in at openside flank for JC Pretorius, who is named among the replacements.
