World Rugby have confirmed a match official replacement for the World Cup semi-final between defending champions, the Springboks, and England in Paris on Saturday.
French referee Mathieu Raynal steps in as assistant for the clash at the Stade France after Irishman Andrew Brace’s calf injury.
Raynal, an experienced figure, debuted in the 2015 World Cup and has officiated over 50 Test, and played a pivotal role in England’s quarter-final win over Fiji.
He replaces Brace, who was set for his first World Cup semi-final. In the event of any issues with the main referee, New Zealander Ben O’Keeffe, Raynal will assume control.
