Jeppe scored twice in the last five minutes to end up on the right side of a 74-point thriller against rivals KES, while Grey College continued their unbeaten run against Grey High on Saturday.
The second leg of the big Johannesburg derby saw hosts Jeppe come out as 43-31 winners, after the two schools were deadlocked at 31-31 with five minutes to play.
There was very little to separate the two 1st XV sides, who went into the break tied at 17-17.
Meanwhile, Grey College produced another dominant performance to claim a 38-14 victory against Grey High in Gqeberha.
Paarl Boys High bounced back from a loss to Boland Landbou with a home 22-12 win over Bishops, while neighbours Paarl Gymnasium won 41-7 against Rondebosch.
Further north, Helpmekaar boosted their hopes of progressing to the playoffs of the Noordvaal Cup by snatching a 38-31 win against Monument. Helpmekaar lock lock JP Lombaard scored the winning try after the full-time hooter, in the final league game for the Johannesburg school.
As it stands, Helpmekaar are in third place on the Noordvaal Cup log with 28 points. They are trailed by Monument (18) and Waterkloof (20), who each have two league games remaining. Unbeaten Garsfontein and EG Jansen lead the standings.
