The Sharks were delighted to announce that hooker Bongi Mbonambi has put pen to paper on a new deal with the Durban outfit from next season.
The former Vodacom Bulls bruiser joined the Sharks in 2021 from the DHL Stormers and has become a pivotal member of the first team since arriving at the Shark Tank.
A 56-Test-cap Springbok and World Cup winner, Mbonambi has signed an extension of his contract which will have him remain at Kings Park until 2026.
The 32-year-old from Bethlehem has formed an all-Bok front row with powerhouses Ox Nche and Thomas du Toit, and featured prominently in the Vodacom United Rugby Championship and Champions Cup this season.
His contract extension comes on the back of contract renewals for fellow SA internationals Nche, Curwin Bosch, Ntuthuko Mchunu and No 8 Sikhumbuzo Notshe, along with loose forward Phepsi Buthelezi and utility back Marnus Potgieter.
