The DHL Stormers have reportedly strengthened their pack with the signing of a powerful forward who came through the ranks at the Vodacom Bulls.
Having already sealed the return of fullback Warrick Gelant from Racing 92, the Stormers are looking to add more depth to their forwards following the departure of Steven Kitshoff to Ulster and Marvin Orie to Perpignan.

According to a report by Netwerk24, last season’s Vodacom United Rugby Championship finalists will offer former Vodacom Bulls lock Hendre Stassen a return to professional rugby.
The 25-year-old recently completed a suspension for the use of a banned substance that he was handed while playing for Stade Francais in 2019.

Able to play at both lock and blindside flank, the 2m, 119kg Stassen was schooled in Boksburg and made his senior debut for the Vodacom Bulls in 2018. After one season in Pretoria, he was taken to Paris by Heyneke Meyer on an initial loan which became permanent. He represented the Junior Springboks in 2017.
Stassen’s contract with Western Province Rugby will reportedly run for four years.
