Wales captain Jac Morgan is set to miss the 2024 Six Nations as he undergoes knee surgery, with Ospreys head coach Toby Booth stating a lengthy recovery period.
The 23-year-old openside flanker’s absence could extend for months, posing a challenge for his participation in the tournament, which kicks off on 2 February. Wales start at home against Scotland on 3 February.
Wales head coach Warren Gatland faces additional back-row concerns with Taulupe Faletau recovering from a broken arm, and other players like Christ Tshiunza and Taine Plumtree facing injuries. Gatland is set to announce the squad in mid-January.

Morgan, named co-captain for the World Cup, might leave a leadership vacuum, and alternatives like Dewi Lake, Adam Beard, Will Rowlands, and Dafydd Jenkins are considered for the captaincy.
Cardiff’s Faletau is progressing well in his recovery, while Ospreys also report prop Nicky Smith’s absence due to a shoulder injury for at least a few weeks.
