The four nominees are:

Pollard's cool goal-kicking ensured that the Bulls got back into the contest at Loftus and eventually reclaimed the lead. The 21-year old finished with a 20-point haul (a conversion, five penalties and a drop goal).

Unfortunately for the Cheetahs, the best South African player in Bloemfontein was wearing a Force jersey. Ebersohn proved a point against his former team-mates with a flawless goal-kicking performance. He also controlled the game well for the visitors with ball in hand.

Apart from a couple of handling errors, the Sharks fullback was safe under the high ball and made a lot of ground for the visitors with ball in hand.

The midfielder Lionel Mapoe gained 77m with ball in hand from 10 carries against the Highlanders (the most by a Lions player), and scored his side's second try.
