SA-born lock Paul Willemse has been omitted, while Antoine Dupont and Romain Ntamack will return to the France 23 for Saturday’s World Cup warm-up against Scotland.
Willemse featured off the bench for the tournament hosts France in a 25-21 defeat in Edinburgh last weekend, in a team missing several first-choice players as coach Fabien Galthie rested key players while looking to test his squad depth.
Captain and scrumhalf Dupont and flyhalf Ntamack will be reunited in Saint-Etienne as Galthie restores his side to full strength for Les Bleus’ second preparation match for next month’s World Cup.
Only back-row forward Paul Boudehent, who made his France debut last Saturday, and lock Cameron Woki keep their place in a team showing 13 changes from the Murrayfield clash.
