WP set up Bulls semi-final clash

The Golden Lions XV, Griquas, Western Province and Blue Bulls advanced to the last four after clinching wins in their Provincial Rugby Challenge quarter-finals.

The Lions will face Griquas and WP will play the Blue Bulls in the semi-finals next Sunday. Both games will be played at Sisa Dukashe Stadium in Mdantsane, outside East London. After consultation with all relevant stakeholders. Western Province offered to forgo their home-ground advantage.

On Saturday, the Lions outplayed the Pumas in a 10-try thriller at Ellis Park, winning 43-32.

In Kimberley, Griquas beat the EP Kings 73-41, with winger Enver Brandt scoring four of the hosts' 11 tries.

On Sunday, the Blue Bulls outscored the Sharks XV 23-18. The Durban-based side scored three tries to two, but three penalties by Tinus de Beer proved the difference.

Later in the day, WP kept the Free State XV scoreless at Green Point Track in Cape Town, beating the visitors 26-0 to remain undefeated.Quarter-final results:
