In a major boost for New Zealand Rugby, a seasoned All Blacks campaigner has extended his contract through to 2026.
Anton Lienert-Brown, who reached a significant milestone of 100 matches for the Chiefs in Super Rugby in May, has proven himself as a pivotal and formidable player in both domestic and international rugby.
Since making his international debut in 2016, the 28-year-old has amassed 60 Test appearances, cementing his status as the fourth most-capped centre in All Blacks history.
With the likes of Tana Umaga, Conrad Smith, and Ma’a Nonu ahead of him, Lienert-Brown aims to continue his upward trajectory and make his mark on the international stage.

“The constant challenge to better myself by competing against elite players was something I thought about a lot when making this decision,” Lienert-Brown said in a statement. “I feel like I’ve still got something to prove to myself.”
The dynamic midfielder is fueled by his passion for representing the Waikato region and donning the revered black jersey.
His versatility and skill make him a vital asset for the All Blacks as they prepare for the Rugby World Cup in France, and despite a shoulder injury limiting his appearances last season, he is set to play a crucial role in their campaign.
The news of Lienert-Brown’s contract extension was met with enthusiasm from All Blacks coach Ian Foster: “To have Anton recommit to the All Blacks is fantastic. His experience and contribution is of the highest quality.”
Chiefs coach Clayton McMillan added: “As a recent centurion, Anton’s contribution to the club speaks for itself and we are delighted he has committed for the next three years.”
