The Cheetahs were pleased to announce the signing of three exciting players for the Bloemfontein outfit from next season.
The Free Staters have secured the services of flyhalf Abner van Reenen and scrumhalf Reagan Oranje, who will join the team in July. Additionally, hooker Vernon Paulo will make his way to Bloemfontein in November.
Paulo, a two-time Varsity Cup champion with the North West University Eagles, has inked a two-year deal. The talented hooker was instrumental in his team’s recent triumph over the UCT Ikeys, where he clinched the prestigious Player That Rocks Award by scoring two tries.

Van Reenen, a former Western Province and DHL Stormers player, makes a triumphant return to South Africa after a stint in Italy with the Rovigo Delta, under the guidance of former Springbok and Stormers coach Allister Coetzee.
Known for his prowess on the field, the 24-year-old flyhalf rose through the ranks at Paarl Boys’ High and represented the Junior Springboks.
An alumnus of Queen’s College who honed his skills at the University of Pretoria, Oranje’s talent caught the attention of the Griquas, earning him a place in their lineup for the 2021 Currie Cup.
